Consider your gift of whatever amount as an investment in the future. What better way to multiply the value of your dollars than to contribute to the development of young women who will be tomorrow’s leaders.

All gifts to the Sigma Kappa Building Fund will be acknowledged, and we hope to recognize donors in meaningful ways through this website and in special areas within the new house. For those donors making gifts of $10,000 or more, we do offer naming opportunities. You can name a room in the house for yourself, a beloved sister, advisor, or family member. (More information to come on naming opportunities) The honoree doesn’t have to be a Sigma Kappa. Few facilities at the University of Tennessee have been named for women. This is a special opportunity for Sigma Kappa women to be recognized.

Gifts can be pledged over a five-year period, so you can name a bedroom for as little as $2,000 per year.

Donor Benefits

The University of Tennessee has graciously allowed the sororities to funnel our gifts through the University. Thus, gifts designated for the Sigma Kappa Building Fund are considered gifts to UT and count in the “Campaign for Tennessee.”

Everyone who makes an annual gift to the University of Tennessee:

• has the satisfaction of supporting a top-quality university with a tax deductible contribution,
• receives the Tennessee Alumnus magazine throughout the year,
• receives the year-end Annual Report and the UTAA pocket calendar, and
• becomes an active member of the Alumni Association.

UT maintains an extensive group of donor recognition clubs and societies designed to extend appreciation and recognition to University and Annual Giving contributors who make gifts at above average levels.

How Much Have We Raised?

Thanks to the generosity of Sigma Kappas, we currently have more than $490,000 toward our goal. The funds are on deposit with the University of Tennessee. The National Housing Corporation is the arm of Sigma Kappa that funds houses for collegiate chapters.

The total for the house we envision will exceed $4 million. Our National Housing Corporation will loan us the difference between the amount we raise and the total cost.
